Cell Death vs. Cell Growth
Cancer doesn’t grow too much. It dies too little.
At Rational Therapeutics, we realize that science changes everything. Once, the goal of cancer treatment was to inhibit unregulated cell growth. Now, we know that we have to induce cell death in order to successfully conquer cancer.
With this as a framework, we have designed the EVA-PCD™ assay to "functionally profile" the ability of chemotherapy drugs to induce programmed cell death in a tumor biopsy from your patient. This is a shift from older assays, which measured a drug’s ability to inhibit cell growth and succeeded only in eliminating drugs that would not work for a patient.
